Elsay Meadery is a passion project done in a bid to do more of this kind of packaging design. Whilst working at Onbox, I branded the fictional North Shore based meadery and created the packaging designs for the three flavours of rich and floral meads; their flagship Raven’s Revenge; a Honey Mead flavoured with Orange Blossom Honey, Viking Blod; a Spiced Mead flavoured with Hibiscus & Cinnamon, and Lone Wolf; a Dark Mead flavoured with Blueberry & Wildflowers. Elsay Meadery prides themselves for using produce from local BC fruit and berry farms in their recipes. Work completed at Onbox.
With such rich history to pull from, along with mead being the oldest fermented beverage on the planet, it made sense to reference symbolic viking mythology that linked to the characteristics of the ancient recipes. Delivered in a style that was clean, contemporary and intriguing, this would help to settle the brand in the modern day market. This led to the creation of the shield illustrations depicting each flavour which formed the forefront of the brand.
